Activities

St. John's offers many activities throughout the year. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate! Just choose your niche!

Choirs:

Youth Choir & Joyful Chimers: (3rd-8th Grade) Practices every Wednesday (except the third Wed. of each month) at 6:15pm. Contact: Julie McCord

Hand Bell Choir: Adult group meets on Tuesdays (except the third Tuesday of each month) at 7:00pm.  Contact: Janel Stahr

Senior Choir:  Practices Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Contact: Julie McCord

Praise & Worship Team: Join us as we explore new worship music. Group meets first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. Contact: Janel Stahr

For Youth:

Sunday School: (Toddler - High School) Sunday School classes are held each Sunday at 9:30am.

FaithInkubators: (7th - 8th grade) Meets on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:05pm in the Luther Chapel during the regular school year.

Junior High Youth Group: Consists of Jr. High age young people. Meets monthly for Bible Study and a variety of social activities including bowling, walleyball, softball, lock-ins, and occasional work/community projects.

Senior High Youth Group: Consists of High School youth. Meets occasionally for a variety of activities - learning, fun, group time, mission trips, and community service.

Avalanche: For children through sixth grade. Meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6:30pm for Christian based activities.

For Adults:

Loyal Lutherans: Adult group which usually meets every other month throughout the year. They work on various service projects for the church each year and at times meet just as a social group.

Book Club: This group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm in the church library. If you enjoy reading, please join them.

Scrapbooking & Crafts: Meets the second Saturday of each month from 10am - 12pm. Bring your unfinished crafts or start a new one! All are welcome for fun and fellowship. Contact: Karen Wolfe

Women's Bible Study: Join Karen Wolfe each second Saturday of the month from 8:30am-10:00am as she explores extraordinary women in the Lutheran Church. Contact: Karen Wolfe

Communion Visitors: This group takes communion to our shut-ins on a monthly basis.

Altar Guild: This is a group that handles setting up for Holy Communion, setting up or baptisms, and taking care of the altar linens and candles.

WELCA Bible Study: Meets the 1st Thursday of the month at 10:00am

WELCA Circles: (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) various circles meet on a monthly basis to enjoy fellowship and topic discussion. See the latest version of The Messenger for a complete schedule each month.
